Job Description

This opening is for an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to serve middle school students aged 8 to 10 years old. The position involves providing specialized physical education support to three eligible students, focusing on tailored activities that meet their unique needs and abilities.

Location: Loomis, CA
Duration: August 14, 2025 June 3, 2026 (Contract, Non-School Year)
Hours: 2 to 6 hours weekly, with a monthly commitment of 120 minutes per student (totaling approximately 6 hours per month).

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver adaptive physical education instruction to three students, ensuring activities are tailored to their specific physical capabilities and developmental requirements.
• Develop and implement individualized physical activity plans that promote motor skills, coordination, and overall physical health.
• Monitor student progress and communicate with teachers, therapists, and families as needed to support student success.
• Maintain accurate records of student participation and progress in adaptive PE services.
• Potential opportunity for make-up instruction covering the period from February 23, 2025, to June 4, 2025, providing a similar monthly time commitment of 120 minutes per student.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Certification or credential in Adapted Physical Education or equivalent credential recognized in California.
• Experience working with elementary/middle school-aged children requiring adaptive physical education services.
• Ability to modify physical education curriculum to accommodate diverse physical abilities.
• Good communication and collaboration skills for working with students, school staff, and families.
• Patience, flexibility, and a passion for supporting students with unique physical education needs.
