Job Title: Analytical Chemist

Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Lab Director to oversee the daily operations of our chemistry laboratory. This leadership role requires hands-on management of laboratory staff, quality systems, and analytical instrumentation. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for environmental testing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the chemistry laboratory.
• Manage laboratory staff and ensure adherence to quality systems.
• Operate and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation.
• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ensure compliance with state lab director approval requirements.
• Maintain and validate methods for accurate laboratory analysis.

Essential Skills

• Strong technical expertise in chemistry and analytical chemistry.
• Proficiency in chromatography techniques.
• Experience with ICP-OES, ICP-MS, ICs, and GC-MS.
• Experience in both organic and inorganic chemistry.
• Proven experience in staff oversight and lab operations.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry is desired.
• Experience in Radiochemistry and Microbiology is a plus.
• State lab director approval or willingness to obtain.
• Microbiology and radiochemistry certifications, which can be obtained while on the job.

The role requires adherence to safety protocols and quality standards, with a focus on environmental testing. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential to manage the team effectively and ensure smooth lab operations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
