About the Role
The Company is a non-profit organization with a mission to support and empower underrepresented populations in the outdoor industry. They are currently seeking passionate and experienced board members to join their team. The ideal candidates will have expertise in legal affairs, financial management, governance, and strategic planning, and will play a critical role in guiding the organization's mission and ensuring its programs foster inclusivity and lasting change. Board members at the company are expected to support and evaluate the performance of the President & CEO, participate in strategic and organizational planning, and ensure strong fiduciary oversight and financial management. Individual responsibilities include being an active advocate and ambassador for the organization, engaging in fundraising and resource development, and maintaining a deep understanding of the organization's mission, policies, and programs. Board members must also be prepared to attend regular meetings, engage in committee work, and participate in major fundraising events. The role requires a commitment to the organization's values, including respect for the diverse experiences of all members and a dedication to the community they serve.
