The opportunity

Delaware North Sportservice is searching for a Controller to join our team at Miami Freedom Park in Miami, Florida. As Controller, you will be overseeing all financial and reporting functions for the unit, including accounting, annual plan, audit assistance, and cash management, as well as financial analysis of the operation. Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $110,600 - $139,300 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. What will you do?
  • Prepare, review, and approve daily sales reports, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, as well as analyze and report variances, monthly financial projections, month-end accounting reports, and oversee audit requirements
  • Oversee cash management and ensure segregation of duties, control and direct inventory, validate the accuracy of inventory variance, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to coordinate and direct the preparation of the annual plan, budget, and financial forecast
  • Analyze and interpret accounting information to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the unit

More about you
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 5 years’ accounting experience, managing a multi-department operation in the hospitality industry
  • Strong knowledge in inventory controls, internal controls, audits, and cash management
  • Experienced in PeopleSoft Financials Software or similar system, and beneficial if you are also experienced in Hyperion and Microsoft Office
