Job Description

At OneMain, Impound Specialists ensure the timely and effective placement of impound repossession assignments. Our team members review all incoming impound notices, contact the holding facility for details, and follow up with customer or appropriate agency. Throughout the process, reviewing assignment details to ensure all state and federal requirements are met This position will serve as a point of contact in maintaining vendor relationships, including assignment follow up, fee authorizations, and invoice approvals. In the RoleReview received impound notices or through the Loss Alert system of recordOutbound/Inbound call attempts to customers to obtain insurance information and customers intentionsRecovery of seized or impounded vehicles, following State and Federal guidelinesMaintain professional and effective communication with repossession agents, impound lots, and various internal departmentsCompletes required applicable paperwork including sending all required Federal and State regulation lettersResponsible to send state required notice of intent letters for the repossession and skip departmentsAssignment of other non-impound repossessions as needed Requirements: 1+ year Collections experience preferredKnowledge of repossessions and auto loans preferredHigh School Diploma or GED requiredAbility to organize and prioritize responsibilities to prevent loan lossStrong problem solving skills1+ year office experience or equivalent education and training.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and WordExcellent Customer ServiceOutstanding phone and negotiation skillsLocation: On site The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday during standard business hours, with some extended hours during the week as needed which may include Saturday.
