Job Description
The purpose of this position is to support the dentist in providing oral healthcare for DOS, DOD, and
contractor personnel stationed in Iraq. The dental assistant is an integral member of the dental treatment team
and performs a wide variety of interventions which contribute to the overall oral health of patients.
Assisting with routine dental procedures using concepts of four-handed dentistry.
Prepares and sterilizes dental instruments and equipment for procedures.
Performs both standard and specialty dental imaging in traditional and/or digital formats.
Assist the dentist during various treatments and procedures.
Maintain patient records and documentation accurately.
Manage patient scheduling and confirm appointments.
Provide education regarding oral health and post-treatment care.
Ensure dental office adheres to infection control and safety standards.
Handle administrative tasks such as billing, coding, and insurance verification.
Assist in managing inventory and ordering dental supplies when necessary.
Communicate effectively with patients, dentists, and other staff members to ensure a smooth
workflow.
3+ years recent experience preferred; entry-level candidates considered on a case-by-case basis.
Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are
client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory
bodies.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
