Job Description

We're looking for an experienced and passionate Director of Student Support Services to lead our efforts in fostering student achievement and well-being. This pivotal role involves centralizing and enhancing non-instructional student services, particularly in student discipline, under a comprehensive multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS). You'll champion students and their families, ensuring they receive high-quality wrap-around services and advocating for their needs.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in education, social work, counseling, or a related field (preferred).

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an educational setting (required).

  • Illinois State Certificate with administrative or supervisory endorsement (Type 75 WPM preferred).

  • Minimum of 3 years of successful teaching or supervisory experience (preferred).

  • School administrative experience (preferred).

  • Exceptional leadership capabilities.

  • Strong knowledge of sound educational programs and practices.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.

  • Proven ability to professionally represent the District to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated capacity for effective collaboration with various departments.

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

 

As the Director of Student Support Services, you will:

  • Align student services with available school and community programs/resources to meet student needs.

  • Collect and report data related to student support initiatives.

  • Oversee the District's centralized student registration process.

  • Gather and report enrollment projections annually by February 28th.

  • Maintain and update the Registration Timeline for enrollment and related secretarial functions.

  • Serve as a Title IX Coordinator and Complaint Manager for the District.

  • Assist with summer school registration.

  • Support magnet school processes, including intent to return letters and available seating.

  • Collaborate with school staff, the community, and local agencies to implement strategies that reduce discipline issues and promote student achievement.

  • Actively promote and facilitate family involvement in student success.

  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and implementation of the Multi-Tier System of Support (MTSS) across all schools.

  • Facilitate connections between District families and District-provided services.

This role is crucial in ensuring our students receive the comprehensive support they need to thrive academically and personally.
