Job Description

The Axel Group is seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist to join our client’s team out of Chester County, Pennsylvania. This reputable environmental consulting firm serves commercial, industrial, and government clients across the Mid-Atlantic region in identifying and resolving risks on properties through environmental assessments, soil and groundwater investigations, and remediation.

The Environmental Scientist will lead technical projects and drive the expansion of the firm’s Pennsylvania operations. This is a strategic role for an ambitious environmental professional ready to optimize project delivery and work as part of a strong environmental team.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years of experience and is skilled in writing Phase II’s.

  • Conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
  • Perform environmental sampling and prepare chain of custody forms for analytical testing
  • Write technical reports
  • Prepare summary reports for environmental site assessments and soil and groundwater investigations
  • Write clear and concise daily field reports detailing site activities
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, colleagues, subcontractors, and prospects

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in geology, environmental science, or related scientific discipline
  • 2+ years of technical experience in the environmental consulting/engineering industry
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment, communicate with clients and other staff, and prepare technical field notes and reports
  • Must demonstrate the ability to multi-task and possess prioritization skills
  • Attention to detail, quality of work, and the ability to take initiative and make technical decisions is a must
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
  • 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER Certification, required
