Head of Japan Originals, Prime Video, Prime Video Studios

Amazon Studios is the movies and television development and production arm of Amazon. We produce original content exclusively for Prime Video customers worldwide. Prime Video offers customers the broadest selection of any on-demand video service, including our critically-acclaimed Amazon Originals Series such as the multi-award-winning The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, The Boys, and The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power; Japan-produced hit Amazon Original series like Hitoshi Matsumoto Presents Documental, The Bachelor, and Love Transit; exclusive TV shows like Angel Flight; original movies like Daisuke Jigen and Knuckle Girl; and live sport including World Baseball Classic and Prime Video Presents Live Boxing.

We are seeking a Head of Japan Originals, Studio (based Tokyo) to lead our transformation and creative strategy across all content areas in Japan. This creative leader will establish Amazon Studios Japan as a premier home for Japan's top storytellers and creative talent, delivering compelling original content to our customers. The ideal candidate combines creative acumen with strong business judgment and is obsessed with local customers, bringing proven ability to manage teams across all content categories and address strategic challenges unique to the Japanese market.

Working closely with key stakeholders across Prime Video and Amazon Studios (Marketing, Operations, Business Affairs, Production, Finance), as well as external creators and talent, this leader must demonstrate clear and persuasive communication, skilled negotiation, and the ability to drive collaboration in a fast-paced environment. They must be fully versed in Japan's entertainment landscape - from top talent relationships to industry dynamics - and able to apply this comprehensive knowledge to a global streaming platform.

- Proven track record of creative decision-making and original slate development
- Demonstrated success in growing teams through respected leadership
- Deep knowledge of industry landscape and creative community with market trends
- Native-level Japanese fluency with English communication skills
