Job Summary:

Xavier University of Louisiana is accepting applications for the open position of Mental Health Counselor. (This is a full-time position) The Mental Health Counselor conducts intakes and provides short-term solution counseling for a diverse student population with evidence-based techniques and interventions for individual, couples, group counseling and crisis intervention. The mental health counselor will also assist with mental health programming with workshops/ presentations, and consult in accordance with ethical guidelines with students, faculty, staff, and families. AA/ EOE

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work (required)
• Licensed Professional Counselor ( LPC ), Licensed Clinical Social Worker ( LCSW ) (preferred) (Currently licensed in Louisiana to provide counseling services)
• 1-3 years or prior experience in collegiate and/or clinical setting.
• Experience with utilizing evidence-based techniques and interventions for a historically underserved population with culturally competent care
• Experience providing telehealth health counseling services and utilizing a EHR system.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work (required)
• Licensed Professional Counselor ( LPC ), Licensed Clinical Social Worker ( LCSW ) (preferred) (Currently licensed in Louisiana to provide counseling services)
• 1-3 years or prior experience in collegiate and/or clinical setting.
• Experience with utilizing evidence-based techniques and interventions for a historically underserved population with culturally competent care.
• Prior experience working with adolescents and or adults
