Job Description
Summary :
The Property Caretaker/Ranch Hand is responsible for maintaining the nine (9) acre Ramona Ranch grounds, including its facilities, equipment, and animal care. Duties involve handling, feeding, and administering medications to animals, assisting with landscaping and property maintenance, and supporting contractors and staff in upkeep tasks. The role requires documenting repairs, ensuring an adequate supply of necessary parts, and maintaining a cleaned and organized work environment. Workdays are Thursday through Monday or Friday through Tuesday, with a strong emphasis on weekend coverage.
Essential Duties :
· Ensure weekend animal care, including feeding, watering and welfare checks.
· Must work Fridays through Mondays to maintain continuity of care and communication.
· Required to work weekends and may be required to work holidays, and all shifts.
· Any vacations must be requested and approved at least 2 weeks in advance to allow time to reschedule other ranch staff to cover weekends.
· Assist with animal-related tasks such as feeding, administering treatments, bleeding, boosting and supporting veterinary procedures.
· Responsible for the entire property.
· Manage landscaping and gardening tasks.
· Oversees security measures and responds to alarms.
· Comply with legal requirements and regulations related to property management.
· Assist the Facilities team with the maintenance of the property.
· Regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
· May perform other job related duties as assigned.

Job Specifications :
High School diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to work with moderate supervision, multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines. Must maintain confidentiality at all times. Valid driver’s license, current proof of insurance and clean driving record.
Working Conditions; Physical & Mental Demands :
· Fast paced work environment.
· Requires physical endurance and strength.
· Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
· Exposure to environmental elements, including dirt and pathogens.
· Must be able to capture and restrain large and small animals.
· Repetitive lifting, pushing and pulling with upper and lower body of objects in excess of 125lbs is required.
