About the Company: VerHalen, Inc. is a leader in construction, committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance. As our current Safety Director prepares for retirement, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Manager to transition into this critical role.

About the Role: The Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing and implementing safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization. This role will involve close collaboration with the retiring Safety Director to ensure a smooth transition.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
• Investigate incidents and accidents and implement proper actions.
• Provide safety training and education to employees.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Collaborate with management to promote a safe working environment.
• Administer and maintain functions related to the Workers’ Compensation program.
• Partner with departments to foster the company values of ‘Doing the Right Thing’ and One Team - One Goal.

Qualifications:

• Based in Green Bay, Wisconsin with travel required to project sites located throughout the state of Wisconsin and Western Upper Michigan.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field and/or 5-10 years’ experience in a related construction safety-oriented field.
• OSHA 30 certification or similar certification is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent communication skills dealing with both office and field.
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all levels of the organization.

Preferred Skills:
