Job Description

Job Summary: The Scrum Master facilitates agile/scrum processes for development teams. This role ensures adherence to Scrum practices, removes obstacles, cultivates a high-performing team, and drives continuous improvement and value delivery to stakeholders. Location:Linthicum Heights, Maryland, United States Responsibilities:

Serve as a servant-leader and coach to Agile development teams.
Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, review, retrospective).
Help the team maintain the sprint backlog, manage velocity, and deliver commitments.
Identify and remove impediments to team progress.
Foster collaboration among product owners, developers, testers, and stakeholders.
Support the product owner in maintaining the product backlog, prioritization, and refinement.
Track and report team metrics (burndown, velocity, cycle time).
Promote continuous improvement and agile best practices.
Shield the team from distractions and help manage dependencies.
Facilitate cross-team coordination and integration.
Support the adoption of agile across the program/organization.

Required Skills & Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
8+ years of experience working in agile environments as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach.
Strong understanding of Scrum/Agile frameworks and practices.
Excellent facilitation, coaching, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
Experience working with software development teams in enterprise or government settings.
Ability to work with remote/distributed teams.
Familiarity with agile tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, etc.).

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent.
Experience in IT modernization/government systems.
Experience scaling agile (SAFe, LeSS, etc.).
Experience in a technical background to understand development/architecture concepts.
