Job Title: General Laborer - Seating Manufacturer


Department: Production / Manufacturing

Reports To: Production Supervisor / Plant Manager

Job Summary:


The General Laborer supports the production of seating products by performing a variety of tasks including assembly, material handling, upholstery prep, and quality inspection. This role is essential to maintaining an efficient and safe workflow on the manufacturing floor. Ideal candidates are hands-on, adaptable, and able to follow instructions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the assembly of seating components (frames, cushions, fabric, etc.).
  
  
• Prepare materials for upholstery and cutting departments.
  
  
• Load/unload materials and finished products.
  
  
• Inspect parts and finished products for defects or inconsistencies.
  
  
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations.
  
  
• Follow safety procedures and report any unsafe conditions.
  
  
• Support machine operators and skilled workers as needed.
  
  
• Perform other general labor duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  
  
• Previous manufacturing or furniture assembly experience is a plus.
  
  
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, or basic machinery.
  
  
• Capable of lifting up to 30 lbs and standing for extended periods.
  
  
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
  
  
• Reliable and punctual with good communication skills.

Work Environment:

• Indoor manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, fabric, and adhesives.

• Requires standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive motions.
