JOB OVERVIEW
Search engine optimization is vital to the success or failure of a company’s online presence and marketing. The SEO Specialist for Equity Trust Company is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing the organization’s overall SEO strategy to drive more traffic, leads, and revenue through organic search. Works closely with content writers, designers, and web developers to improve online visibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
• Develop short- and long-term SEO strategies
• Improve website’s industry authoritativeness, expertise, and trustworthiness
• Optimize on-site elements (keyword research, internal linking, website structure, title/meta/header optimization, image alts)
• Devise off-page SEO strategies (backlink development, online PR, content distribution)
• Perform technical audits and updates (site speed optimization, index management, 3XX redirects, 4XX errors, robots.txt, sitemaps, structured data)
• Research and report relevant keywords and trends
• Collaborate with creative and marketing team members to produce engaging, relevant content
• Track and report on KPIs, rankings, and recommend tactics to optimize further
• Stay abreast of SEO best practices, marketing trends, and search engine updates
• Create processes and checklists for SEO related tasks and activities
• Analyze competitor websites and marketing activities
• Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations or related communications field
• 3-5 years’ experience as an SEO specialist or similar role
• Proven track record of improving rankings, traffic, and leads
• Knowledge in using content management systems (CMS) to optimize websites
• Lead generation experience

To be successful in this role, you should have experience with and an understanding of the following:
• Familiarity with conversion rate optimization (CRO)
• Experience with website testing (A/B, Multivariate)
• HTML/CSS knowledge
• Knowledge of UX best practices and responsive design
• Experience with YouTube/Video optimization
• Understanding of AI capabilities as well as experience creating AI sourced content and imagery
• Familiarity with web analytics and reporting tools
• SEO Copywriting and natural language processing techniques
• Experience with SEO tools and tech stack – SemRush, ahrefs, Surfer SEO, WordPress, Gravity Forms, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, PowerBI

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to speak and hear. This job requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
