Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, incumbent performs apprentice level repairs and installations and assists in maintaining equipment and systems in assigned areas. Incumbent will be expected to have basic knowledge in the discipline(s) for which they will be responsible.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities and Reporting During an Emergency Situation :
Essential Employees may be required to work during a declared emergency. Depending on the nature of the emergency, this may require working around the clock for several days on short notice.
Non Essential Employees will not be required to work during a declared emergency. The employee's Department Head will determine when the employee will be required to work.

Duties/Responsibilities - Performs skilled to highly skilled trades work in area assigned
- Performs general maintenance tasks
- Operates various manual and electrical tools in the performance of tasks
- Clean and repair equipment as needed
- May be responsible for general maintenance such as replacing light bulbs, hanging pictures, filter changes, patching and painting of the exterior and interior of buildings.
- Minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry and HVAC repairs/maintenance.
- Repair broken pipes and valves.
- May be required to operate a motor vehicle in performance of assigned tasks.
- This position requires regular and reliable attendance and the employee's physical presence at the workplace.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintenance of swimming pools.
- Performs custodial duties as assigned.
- Assist with renovation, remodeling, demolition, and construction work, including carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, roof, and gutter repair.
- Assist with space modifications, office reconfigurations, and facility upgrades to meet operational and safety standards.
- Conduct inspections to assess existing conditions and recommend repair or renovation solutions.
- Have general knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) and general construction methods.
- Operate and maintain construction tools, equipment, and machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and organizational standards.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and outside service providers as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of materials, labor, and project progress.
- Assist with responding to facility-related work orders and provide timely resolutions.
- Perform maintenance and renovation tasks in ways that support established sustainability and energy-efficiency initiatives in renovation projects

Minimum Requirements - High School diploma or GED. Experience, and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities can be substituted for the High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum two years of experience in related field
