Location Description:

The Boston Harbor Hotel is Bostons premier waterfront hotel, where luxury service is personal. Overview:

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a passionate hospitality professional with strengths in service, a thorough understanding of the guest experience, and an exceptional Beyond Compare service attitude for the role of Barista at the Boston Harbor Hotel, Boston's only Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five-Diamond waterfront hotel. This role is instrumental in driving excellence through crafting and presenting beverages in the specialty coffee program at the Dandelion Marketplace and creating memorable, elevated experiences for every guest.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities for the Barista include the following but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages
  • Sanitize work areas and supplies
  • Knowledge of menu items including grab n go food and beverages
  • Keep all supplies stocked and organized
  • Create an excellent Forbes 5-star guest experience
  • Receive and process payments on the POS system
  • Serve prepared foods as necessary
  • Take out garbage and recycling
  • Maintain bakery and grab n go cases
  • Operate all equipment including the espresso machine, coffee brewer and dishwasher
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to performance of key responsibilities, this position may be required to possess a combination of the following skills and experiences:

  • Demonstrate the ability to work cohesively with a team
  • Self-directed, motivated and demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing. A second language is desirable
  • Maintain a coachable and emotionally mature demeanor toward your teammates, management and guests
  • Must be familiar with the local area
  • Ability to transport (pull, push) up to 50 lbs

Experience:

Must have at least (1) or more years of experience, with a combination of previous specialty coffee and retail experience. Luxury Environment experience is preferred.
