Technical Sales Specialist - DC area job at Spectra Logic. Washington DC. Description Location: Greater Washington DC area Travel: This remote role is expected to travel up to customer sites, up to 50% of the time. We are looking for a competitive, self-motivated individual to join our sales team covering the DC area and eastern seaboard. This hybrid role blends technical expertise with entry-level product sales and is ideal for a Senior Sales Engineer or Solutions Architect interested in transitioning into a full-time sales position. You will use your technical knowledge and relationship-building skills to work with vendors, partners, and system integrators to deliver optimal solutions for customers. On the sales side, you will be mentored by a 20-year sales veteran who transitioned from a technical background to a successful enterprise sales career. Required Qualifications: 5+ years in a pre-sales or similar customer-facing technical role Experience in High Performance Computing (HPC) Familiarity with cloud-based protocols, services, and terminology. Knowledge of parallel file systems (e.g., Lustre, GPFS) Experience with archive storage solutions Federal market experience Strong planning and time management skills Helpful Experience: Understanding of cloud data storage concepts Ability to articulate the value proposition of a solution Familiarity with the data storage, backup software and data archives Knowledge of HPC workflows and ecosystem.
