American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry night shift position requiring an active AZ or compact RN license and recent telemetry experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n
  • Position is in a 32-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit within an acute care setting
  • Patient population includes post-cath lab, post-vascular procedure, day 2 post-CABG, general telemetry, and adult patients aged 15 and older
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:3-4
  • Uses Cerner EMR, with centralized telemetry monitoring
  • 12-hour night shifts (7 PM – 7 AM), every other weekend required
  • Floating may be required to similar or lower acuity units, first to float policy
  • Hospitalist rounds during the day and is on call at night
  • PCTs support the unit at a ratio of 1 per 16 patients
  • Two-day floor-specific orientation provided
  • Primary responsibilities include managing telemetry patients, titrating cardiac medications such as Amio, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, Dobutamine (down titration only), and collaborating with hospitalists and support staff
  • No pediatric assignments; patients must be at least 15 years old
  • No ventilator management required; respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7
  • Charge nurse and clinical supervisor provide managerial support on the unit
  • Navy scrubs required for this position
  • Returning travelers must not have been employed at any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past year
  • Required to reside at least 50 miles from the facility if living in AZ, NV, NE, IA, or MN; 60 miles for CO, KS, or UT
  • First day study materials provided for sterile technique orientation testing
  • Holiday coverage expectations apply according to unit needs

  • Active AZ or compact RN license required; pending licenses not accepted
  • Minimum of 2 years recent telemetry RN experience within the past 6 months
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; pending certifications not accepted
  • Must be able to interpret EKGs
  • Successful completion of Dysrhythmia (Prophecy/Relias) exam within 24-48hrs prior to acceptance with a maximum of two attempts
  • Pass/Fail sterile technique test required on first day of orientation
  • Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
  • Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from the past 12 months, and one peer or supervisor reference from the past 3 years
